OUR STORY
Gold Rush Scanning and Affordable Mail Services were established in 2004 and are operated by individuals with developmental disabilities. They are based on a business model that two Howard County families have created to ensure productive and valued employment for their adult children with developmental disabilities. Both companies are built around the skills that the individuals with developmental disabilities possess, and each employs staff to ensure the highest product quality.

In September 2007, Gold Rush Scanning and Affordable Mail Services collaborated to create a new, shared company called The Document Mill. Under the umbrella of The Document Mill and with the recent addition of a third business, The Shred Mill, all three businesses can operate independently while sharing common expenses that neither could easily afford on their own. The Document Mill now provides a single source for document scanning, bulk mailing and shredding.

Since its inception, the Document Mill has provided quality document services to lawyers, providers of developmental disabilities, political campaigns, colleges and universities, area chambers of commerce, local networking organizations, real estate /  mortgage / and insurance agents, non-profit organizations and retail businesses.
